We are well into May, looking at the training of new skills in eager anticipation of the next season of gymnastics for Premier Complex Gymnasts. All the gymnasts did very good this year and we are looking forward to what they will accomplish. Looking through the goal sheets, they are all very self secure and know that they have talent.

Life with or without a gym.
The ownership of a business has its ups and it has its downs, more so when you are teaching and building it with youth. I cannot really complain about the things I have because I thoroughly enjoy my life and I believe that what I do is a positive element in the lives of my children. It sometimes comes into my head that if I didn't do the gym and all the things that went into it and went with it that I would have so much more time to live the other parts of life but then again, when I am doing what I love is there really anything that I am missing?
I had three weeks off this summer as "vacation" but really, there is no vacation from a business you own. I needed to fill in the time with private lessons and extra time for my girls that don't get my attention when the classes are actually going on so that three weeks is now turning into maybe 5 days. I am looking toward this weekend of going away with some fun girls for some fun times on the lake on a pontoon and on the river in canoes and I was just pondering how awesome a nap would feel. I believe I am getting old.
As the gym becomes more successful in the talents of the gymnasts I also look at what we are lacking as far as state of the art in training and I know that the girls that are now 8-11 could probably advance quicker in a facility that has ALL the necessary elements to bring them to the next level. It isn't really an option to invest more money into the gym in this area because of the lack of base population for something like Premier so we work with what we have to the best of our ability and really, back in the 60's there were some superior gymnasts that had to work off of the wrestling mats used by all the sweaty boys. We can do it, I can never forget that WE CAN.
Moving into the competition season will be relieving because we will see the scores come up so much higher because of the new skills and it will show the rewards of what we have all been doing for the past five months. I am looking forward to being in the upper divisions this year and showing our gymnasts some real challenges.
So after all of this...
I see just how fortunate I really am.
Thankful also.

Managing the gym schedule
Premier Complex is excited to have the Clear Lake public school district interested in running the summer school program through our facility. The district will offer gymnastics as a class for the month of June during their summer school program. There will be an appointed elementary education teacher along with Dianne Dietrich to run the classes. These classes will run along side of the Premier classes so it will be nice to get new kids into the gym to mix with our team gymnasts.
Premier is looking forward to the first pre-team meet for the Water team on the 17th of April in River Falls. The Earth team will be joining them, and should perform extremely well at this meet. Please feel free to join us at the meet Saturday if you would like!!
Feel free to check out our summer schedule for class and camp via our website and reserve your spot!

Meet Season
Hello!
We are well underway in the fall season of our second year at Premier Complex. The meet schedule is now posted on the website calendar page so go check that out! Most of the gymnasts are sitting with completed routines on all areas. This makes the next month easy with just polishing up the skills and cleaning up the dance.
The beam room is void of the ceiling now and painting is going to begin this evening. The lights should be installed by then end of next week so after all that is done we will get to enjoy two sets of bars in the floor room and still have access to all of our seven beams. THANK GOD!
Thanks to everyone that helped out at the foodstand during Amery Fall Festival. The booster club is very appreciative of any help they can get. The parade was a success and very fun, the girls looked good despite having to tumble on TAR. (!!)
Still looking for fundraising ideas so if anyone out there has a good one, let's look into it! Have a great weekend and keep flipping.

Elli
I went today to visit Elli. She is one of the team gymnasts for Premier. She had been diagnosed with Cushings disease and they removed a tumor from her putuitary gland. She is doing well, but will be absent from the gym for around three months. As many of you know her and I share a special bond and she rides with me in the mornings to the gym as I munch my breakfast apple and prepare my head for the day. She always gives me this one eyebrow raised look as we drive and she tells me of her saga's. She is 11 but seems to be 35. She is an amazing girl. If you would like to send a card or an email let me know and I will get you the information. Since she is a gym addict the recovery is going to seem pretty extreme to her so don't leave her behind! Keep in touch with her. I am thanking God that they were able to find it and stop the damage. She should be out of the hospital next week. <3 We love you Elli!!

August
August is progressing well. Having some fun with back tucks on the beam, double backs for floor and new release moves and mounts on the bars. The gymnasts keep moving forward, keep impressing us with their thriving skill bases. We are looking forward to September, to see all the team kids together in the gym. If you have not already, please pick up your gymnasts photos in the gym. Cahill did an awesome job with the photos, be sure to send them out a quick email to thank them! If you do not have in your team registration papers, please be sure to do that, the deadline is August 15th.
See you in the gym!
